A Friend Who Never Disappoints

    Middle School.

    High School.

    School in general.

Who am I kidding? Life in general.

It’s hard enough without all these people complicating it, isn’t it? People whine. But people care. People fight. But people love. People have bad days and top-of-the-world amazing days!

God created us to live in harmony with people, and we get glimpses of it. But there are so many struggles. A friend who stops talking to you. A squabble over which soda or superhero is the best. All because of this icky thing called sin.

Some of it is silly stuff (squabbles over sodas and superheroes), but it is so tough when we’re in the middle of it, isn’t it? Tough. Awkward. And the worst: disappointing.

Yes, people are disappointing. And now, I’ve risked making this post a downer, but I do have some encouragement.

God is the best friend you will ever ever ever ever ever ever…(do you get the idea???) have! He will never leave us nor forsake us. (See Deuteronomy 31:6.) I’ve truly seen His love, His provision of friends, and His constant presence with me when I am going through a friendship transition or just dealing with difficult people.

People make mistakes. God never does! He doesn’t whine or fight with you. But He is in you, guiding you if you will listen to Him.

Nothing in this world or the next will ever separate you from His love:

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39 NIV)

Hang on to that promise no matter who or what you’re dealing with.
